South Shore Controls Inc

As of 2009, South Shore Controls has grown to employ more than thirty-five (35) full-time associates, and occupies 12,000 ft² of manufacturing space, complete with 460V power for testing, an overhead crane, and dock level loading and unloading capabilities. Almost 6,000 ft²office space provides a home for the company's engineering and administration personnel.

South Shore Controls was founded in Painesville, OH in 1996 by managing partners Rick Stark and George Strekal to provide a single source for design, fabrication, installation and service for Industrial Plant Floor Automation clients in Northeastern Ohio, and throughout the world.

In 2002, South Shore Controls acquired the assets of the former Controls Unlimited Company. Controls Unlimited was founded in Perry, OH in 1986, and had long been a provider of Controls and Control Panels to Northeastern Ohio's diverse base of industry. South Shore Controls retained many of the longtime Controls Unlimited associates, and took over the Perry, OH operations, providing the company with a complete mechanical and electrical fabrication facility.

Machinery Fabrication Division
During 2008, and in a joint venture with Niagara Systems LLC, South Shore Controls commissioned a complete machinery fabrication division at the Perry, Ohio facility. New resources include and 8' shear and brake, a CNC plasma cutting system, a CNC milling machine, a 7' lathe, several new milling machines, and improved TIG welding equipment. These new resources have given the company the ability to fabricate a wide range of automated web-handling and automated material handling machines.
